We’re creating detailed models that project the impact of different forest management actions and natural disturbances on carbon storage at regional and state levels.
Forest carbon models can be used to compare the outcome of planting different types of trees or the effect of changing how often trees are harvested.
There are many forest management methods that may work to help increase forests’ abilities to remove and store carbon. At American Forests, we are working on creating a guide for climate-smart forestry practices.
